Job summary

YMCA of Greater Indianapolis is seeking a Program Instructor II to lead group exercise classes under the direction of the Program Director. The role focuses on providing quality leadership in a safe, non-competitive environment for YMCA members and supporting flexible hours for a 20-hour workweek.

Qualifications include at least a high school diploma (or equivalent), minimum age 18, and preferred coaching experience with knowledge of basic exercise science.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or its equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Experience in coaching or leading structured programs is preferred.
• Knowledge of basic exercise science, and fitness leadership is preferred.
• Ability to successfully demonstrate group exercise curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise group exercise classes.
• Provide quality leadership in a safe, non-competitive environment for YMCA members.
• Support members and maintain effective class flow and engagement.
• Demonstrate group exercise curriculum to participants and assist with program development.
