Job summary

YMCA of San Diego County is seeking a Les Mills Instructor to lead engaging fitness classes at the McGrath Family YMCA in California. The role focuses on building positive relationships with members, guiding workouts, and maintaining a safe, welcoming environment.

The position requires Les Mills certification, CPR/First Aid, fingerprinting per state requirements, and the ability to work with participants of all fitness levels. Training completes within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Les Mills certification required for appropriate format.
• 1+ years experience leading Les Mills exercise classes preferred.
• All required trainings within 90 days from date of hire.
• Strong communication skills with members of all fitness levels.

Responsibilities

• Create a positive member experience through welcoming participants and ensuring they are actively engaged in their workout.
• Provide a safe workout routine by demonstrating proper form and technique, appropriate modifications, and cueing.
• Maintain a clean and safe workout area.
• Effectively utilize scheduled class time.
• Set up and breakdown class equipment in allotted timeframe.
• Build community through forming positive relationships and helping members reach their Health & Wellness goals.
• Adhere to YMCA core functions and class guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with groups of members.
• Respond to emergencies quickly and safely.
