Job summary

YMCA of San Diego County is seeking a Les Mills Instructor to lead BodyCombat classes and foster a welcoming, energetic environment for members. You will ensure safe, effective workouts and help participants stay motivated while upholding YMCA standards.

Responsibilities include demonstrating proper form, modifying as needed, keeping the workout area clean, and managing equipment setup/breakdown. Schedule includes Sunday 9:00–11:00 am; opportunity to build community and support members' health

Qualifications

• Les Mills certification required for Body Combat format.
• 1+ year’s experience leading Les Mills exercise classes preferred.
• All trainings within 90 days from date of hire.
• Strong communication skills and the capability to work with members of all fitness levels and abilities.
• CPR/AED and First Aid Certification must be current (Adult and Child/Infant).
• Fingerprinting as per state requirements before reporting to work.

Responsibilities

• Create a positive member experience through welcoming participants and ensuring they are actively engaged in their workout.
• Demonstrate proper form and technique, provide appropriate modifications, and cue effectively.
• Maintain a clean and safe workout area.
• Utilize scheduled class time efficiently.
• Set up and breakdown class equipment within the allotted timeframe.
• Build community by learning names and helping members reach their Health & Wellness goals.
• Adhere to YMCA class guidelines and communicate with groups.
