Job summary

YMCA of the Roses in Lancaster, PA is seeking a part-time Les Mills Instructor to lead high-energy, safe fitness classes at the Lampeter-Strasburg YMCA. You’ll deliver engaging workouts that build strength, cardio, and confidence in participants of all levels.

Responsibilities include teaching well-structured classes, offering scalable options, cueing clearly, and maintaining equipment and attendance. Certification in CPR/First Aid and Les Mills or equivalent is required.

Qualifications

• CPR PRO/AED/First Aid certification required.
• Les Mills Instructor or equivalent group exercise certification required.
• 1–2 years of group fitness instruction experience required.
• Strong communication and community-building skills; awareness of wellness trends.

Responsibilities

• Coach a thrilling, well-structured class that’s effective, educational, and fun.
• Offer smart exercise options and progressions for all fitness levels.
• Build connection and momentum with participants through clear cueing and encouragement.
• Set up, secure, and maintain equipment; report safety concerns promptly.
• Start/end on time and keep accurate attendance records.
• Cover occasional weekday/evening/weekend substitute classes as needed.
