Job summary

YMCA of Greater Brandywine in West Chester, PA is seeking a part-time Group Exercise instructor. You will conduct classes, engage participants, and maintain a safe, energetic atmosphere while ensuring timely class starts and closures.

The role requires at least 1 year of group exercise participation and current certificates; training and certifications must be updated within 90 days of hire. Join a team emphasizing health and community impact.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• At least 1 year of participation in group exercise class(es) required.
• Possess and maintains at least one current Group Exercise certificate of completion or specialty certificate from a reputable organization for each specialized group modality
• Obtain and maintain all new hire certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Conduct group exercise classes and provide assistance in a safe, enthusiastic, thorough, courteous and professional manner.
• Be a positive YMCA role model with an enthusiastic attitude
• All scheduled classes will be held, and sub coverage secured
• Classes will start and end on time
• Greet participants and learn their names
• Take class attendance
• Familiarize yourself with our Upace Group Ex technology including sub tracking, class contact feature, class cancellation
• Check and respond in a timely fashion to your YMCA email
• Identify participants’ limitations and adapt classes or provide modifications accordingly
• Properly and safely utilize all equipment associated with your class
• Promote a healthy lifestyle
• Attend advanced training workshops offered by YMCA of Greater Brandywine or co-op member YMCA
• Participate in special events and open houses throughout the year
• Ensure compliance with all YGBW policies and SOPs
• Performs other related duties as assigned
