Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Brandywine in Coatesville, PA seeks a part-time Group Exercise Instructor to lead engaging, safe workouts for diverse participants. Responsibilities include class delivery, attendance tracking, and adapting sessions to all ability levels.

You will also participate in trainings, coordinate sub coverage, and maintain timely communication using YMCA tools while upholding our health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• At least 1 year of participation in group exercise class(es) required.
• Enthusiastic Group Exercise instructor with strong safety and engagement skills.
• Maintain current Group Exercise certificate(s) for each modality.

Responsibilities

• Lead safe, fun and challenging group exercise classes.
• Be a positive YMCA role model with enthusiastic attitude.
• Ensure all scheduled classes occur and sub coverage is arranged.
• Greet participants, take attendance, and manage class flow.
• Familiarize with Upace Group Ex tech and class communications.

What You'll Do

• Conduct group exercise classes and provide assistance in a safe, enthusiastic, thorough, courteous and professional manner.
• Be a positive YMCA role model with an enthusiastic attitude
• All scheduled classes will be held, and sub coverage secured
• Classes will start and end on time
• Greet participants and learn their names
• Take class attendance
• Familiarize yourself with our Upace Group Ex technology which includes but is not limited to sub tracking system, class contact feature, class cancellation
• Check and respond in a timely fashion to your YMCA email
• Identify your participants' limitations and adapt your classes and/or provide modifications accordingly
• Properly and safely utilize all equipment associated with your class
• Promote a healthy lifestyle
• Attend advanced training workshops that are offered throughout the year by the YMCA of Greater Brandywine (or another co-op member YMCA)
• Participate in special events and open houses throughout the year
• Ensures compliance with all YGBW policies and standard operating procedures.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older
• At least 1 year of participation in group exercise class(es) required
• We are looking for an enthusiastic Group Exercise instructor to lead safe, fun and challenging classes. Multiple format certifications would be ideal.
• Possess and maintains at least one current Group Exercise certificate of completion or specialty certificate from a reputable organization for each specialized group modality
• Obtain and maintain all new hire certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire
