Job summary

PDS Optical in Louisville, KY, is seeking a Digital Surface Technician to control the optical manufacturing equipment that blocks, generates, polishes, adds backside coating, and lasers lenses to the designated curve on the concave side. This is a full-time position on the evening shift, Monday through Friday, 4:30pm – 1:00am, with on-the-job training provided.

Optical lab or mass manufacturing experience is preferred but not required, and candidates must be able to stand for 8 hours and learn

Qualifications

• Must be able to stand and work on your feet for 8 hours.
• Learn to run all machines within your designated area.
• Change and install Filter Tech rolls with a partner as necessary.
• Address equipment errors and alarms on the automated surface line without tools.

Responsibilities

• Operate digital surface manufacturing equipment to block, generate, polish, apply backside coating, and laser lenses to the designated curve on the concave side.
• Follow production order priorities, including HOT/PRIORITY jobs.
• Transport trays for production as needed; maintain clean work area and machines.
• Work in a production/manufacturing environment and adapt to varied noise levels.
