Job summary

PDS Optical seeks a Digital Surface Technician to join our production optical lab in Louisville, KY. The role involves operating the equipment that blocks, generates, polishes, applies backside coating, and laser-etches lenses to the required curve on the concave side. Training provided.

This full-time position runs Monday through Friday, 4:30pm–1:00am, with a pay rate of $17.00 per hour. Prior optical lab or mass manufacturing experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Optical lab experience preferred but not required.
• Willingness to learn multiple machines in the production line.
• Ability to follow detailed production procedures.

Responsibilities

• Stand for 8 hours and work on your feet.
• Learn to operate all machines in your designated area.
• Change and install Filter Tech rolls with a partner as needed.
• Address equipment errors and alarms on the automated surface line.
• Understand lab production order and JND system; prioritize HOT jobs.
• Transport trays for production as needed.
• Clean work area and machines during and after shift.
• Maintain a steady workflow throughout the shift.
