Job summary

PDS Optical is seeking a Digital Surface Technician to join our Louisville, KY facility. This full-time role involves operating and maintaining optical manufacturing equipment to achieve precise lens surfaces and coatings. Training will be provided on-site, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 7:30am to 4:00pm.

Prior experience in optical lab or mass manufacturing is preferred but not required. Starting pay is $16.00 per hour, with a supportive team and a focus on accuracy and safety as we produce

Qualifications

• Must be able to stand and work on your feet for 8 hours.
• Willingness to learn to run all machines in your area.
• Optical lab or mass manufacturing experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Operate optical manufacturing equipment to block, generate, polish, apply backside coating, and laser lenses to designated curve.
• Change and install Filter Tech rolls with a partner as necessary.
• Address equipment errors and alarms on the automated surface line.
• Understand lab production order sequencing and prioritize HOT/PRIORITY jobs.
• Transport trays for production and maintain clean work area.
• Maintain steady workflow throughout the shift.
