Job summary

Skyla Credit Union is seeking a Lending Specialist for the LoSo area in Charlotte. The role focuses on processing loan applications, evaluating income and credit, and delivering decisions to members.

You will build knowledge of lending products and credit union services while supporting non-members joining the credit union. This on-site position requires strong communication, teamwork, and the ability to handle high volumes; familiarity with MS Office is required and prior lending experience is

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 2 years of Lending Experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft suite of products.
• Strong interpersonal & communication skills.
• Handle High Volume.
• Work in a Team Environment.
• Ability to Multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Process member loan applications via telephone, mail, fax, in person and electronic delivery.
• Evaluate proof of income and analyze credit reports; coach members on credit reports to improve score.
• Provide loan approval when within authority and refer to underwriters otherwise.
• Deliver decision to member and prepare loan documents for funding.
• Qualify non-members for membership, open deposit accounts, cross-sell services.
• Maintain knowledge of lending policies and state laws; stay updated on related regulations.
