Primary Functions

Responsible for building relationships and increasing market share through effective recommendations of credit union products and services, including loans. Utilize collaborative sales skills to effectively cross-sell products and services, member referrals, and represent the credit union in a positive and ethical manner.

Responsibilities
  • Exhibit a thorough knowledge of the credit union’s products and services by successfully providing the appropriate product solution for the member.
  • Greet and welcome members and visitors to the credit union in a professional manner. Provide prompt, efficient, and accurate service in the processing of transactions.
  • Respond to all inquiries, either in person/phone or other means, to identify member needs in accordance with the credit union service expectations.
  • Solicit all types of new accounts, cross sell credit union services, and add new relationships to existing accounts based on the member needs to meet both credit union and individual goals.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of all ancillary products’ features and benefits to make effective recommendations to members and achieve credit union goals.
  • Handle all administrative duties related to the selling of products and services to ensure members receive excellent quality service.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work as a team member/mentor and consistently be courteous and professional towards members and coworkers.
  • Produce loans, including equity loans, within current lending policy guidelines. Set up and disburse approved loans according to established approval limits. Complete all other loan related tasks as required.
  • Meet compliance and audit standards by minimizing documentation and error rates while maintaining the integrity and privacy of member information.
  • Comply with all federal regulations, credit union policies and procedures, including Bank Secrecy and the USA Patriot Act.
  • Be open to learning new processes/methods and take the initiative to apply them to the job.
  • Obtain necessary lending licensing.
  • May be required to assist on teller line as needed.
  • Produce loans within current lending policy guidelines. Set up and disburse approved loans. Complete all other loan related tasks as required.
  • Remain abreast of changes in credit union lending policy, procedures, as well as consumer lending practices and willingly share knowledge with others.
  • Comply with all Federal regulations, Credit Union policies and procedures, including Bank Secrecy and the USA Patriot Act.
  • Perform job duties in accordance with the Credit Union's values, mission and vision.
  • Perform other various duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
  • Requires an associate degree or equivalent work experience in a related field.
  • Sales oriented individual, well-developed interpersonal skills essential for interviewing loan applicants and projecting a positive image with excellent communication and computer skills.
  • Proven track record of meeting established goals.
  • Minimum one (1) year(s) lending experience preferred.
  • Requires knowledge of credit union products and services, consumer loan policy, credit granting criteria, interest rates and how they are computed, title laws, and the required documentation for each type of loan.
  • Self-starter, detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize efficiently.
