Job summary

VMCH Ashwood is seeking a Leisure and Lifestyle Coordinator to lead planning and delivery of engaging lifestyle programs within our residential aged care community. You will mentor Lifestyle Assistants and volunteers, tailoring activities to residents' interests and goals to enhance wellbeing.

The role requires experience in aged care, leadership, Montessori understanding, and strong communication and IT skills, with a focus on documenting outcomes and contributing to continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Leisure and Health, Diversional Therapy, or equivalent qualification.
• Experience working within an aged care environment.
• Previous experience leading and supervising staff.
• Understanding Montessori principles in aged care.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and relationship-building skills.
• Current First Aid Certificate (Level 2).
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate engaging lifestyle and activity programs for residents.
• Assess residents' leisure and wellbeing needs and create individualised program plans.
• Organise events, excursions, and activities that promote social connection, independence, and active engagement.
• Support residents living with dementia through meaningful and purposeful activities.
• Lead, mentor, and supervise Lifestyle Assistants and volunteers.
• Maintain documentation, evaluate program outcomes, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
