Qualifications

  • Two years of administrative experience in a general office environment.
  • College degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Answer and screen calls; arrange conference calls and provide information to legislators, staff, lobbyists, state agencies, and the public.
  • Greet and screen visitors; route inquiries to appropriate personnel.
  • Inform member of and respond to constituent inquiries; provide information directly and with staff support.
  • Read and route mail; prepare routine correspondence and outgoing mail and email.
  • Coordinate member’s daily schedule and travel arrangements; submit per diem claims.
  • Organize and maintain the member’s files and records.
  • Manage pages, chaplains, nurses, and doctors of the day; prepare and distribute citations.
  • Track legislation through the process; conduct basic research for talking points or presentations.
