Job summary

Tennessee Board of Regents System Office seeks a Legislative Intern to support the Government & Public Relations team during the legislative session. You will monitor committee meetings, track legislation, and assist with scheduling meetings and campus visits with legislators and stakeholders.

The internship is paid and hybrid, combining on-site, remote work, and occasional assignments at other locations. Some days may require extra hours during the session; the internship concludes two weeks

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in, or a recent graduate of, a college or university (including TCAT).
  • Interest in state government or higher education issues.
  • Ability to work extended hours during the legislative session.
  • Reliable transportation to/from TBR System Office and Capitol Complex.

Responsibilities

  • Legislative bill tracking and research to support Government & Public Relations staff (Essential).
  • Administrative support tasks, research, meeting prep, staff support at System Office (Essential).
  • Facilitating Capitol Hill visits, including TBR Day on the Hill, and assisting dignitaries/staff/visitors on behalf of the TBR (Essential).
  • Other duties as assigned by Government & Public Relations Department staff and/or other External Affairs leaders/staff (Marginal).
