Job summary

Wayne State University seeks a Legislative Intern for the Republican Intern Pool in the Lansing offices for Fall Semester 2026. The intern will support staff with constituent relations, communications, and monitoring legislation, gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced legislative setting.

Paid internship with flexible scheduling, typically Tuesdays–Thursdays when the House is in session; some district travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be a college student, veteran, or participant in a job entry program.
• Strong applicants will have a positive attitude, previous office experience, knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, telephone skills, and writing skills.
• Knowledge of the legislature is preferred but not required.

• Assist with general office operations including constituent relations, communications, and monitoring legislation.
