KMRG, LLC is seeking an experienced Legal Support Specialist to support the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Western District of Virginia. Your scope of work includes providing a wide variety of technical paralegal services and supporting Assistant United States Attorneys (AUSAs) within the Criminal Division.

Formación

• 2 years of experience in a professional office environment; legal setting preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Paralegal certificate preferred; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and office technology.

Responsabilidades

• Provide a variety of direct paralegal services to assist AUSAs.
• Seek information from known sources and locate new sources of information to aid investigations, litigation, and trials.
• Gather factual material using legal authorities and current case law.
• Read, annotate, and summarize transcripts, files, and other factual aspects of cases.
• Obtain financial and statistical information, agency records, court records, and public records.
• Analyze documents, assist with agency interviews or potential witnesses, and draft memoranda.
• Review, organize, and analyze the financial and management operations of various organizations.
• Gather, sort, and examine financial documents from various sources.
• Interpret data and statistical evaluations to prepare and present reports to AUSA/judges.
• Review health care records and related documents.
• Perform case file review and analysis against legal standards.
• Note deficiencies and request further investigation within authority.
• Perform case development tasks using legal research tools.
• Organize, inventory, and process large quantities of records and discovery documents.
• Prepare exhibits for settlements, discovery requests, and trial.
• Organize and analyze discovery responses.
• Provide automated litigation assistance to attorneys in fraud-related trial prep.
• Use software/apps and hardware like scanners/plotters.
• Prepare documents, charts, and visuals for trials.
• Provide technical support (e.g., enlarging charts, duplicating media, marking exhibits).
• Perform government work with high accuracy.
• Complete duties by set deadlines.
