Job summary

KMRG, LLC seeks an experienced Criminal Paralegal to support the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Western District of Virginia. This full-time role provides a broad range of technical paralegal services to assist AUSAs in criminal investigations, litigation, and trials.

The position requires proficiency with legal procedures, research tools, and document management, ensuring timely handling of discovery, transcripts, and case materials with high accuracy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Paralegal certificate preferred; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Strong knowledge of legal procedures and terminology.
• Experience with Westlaw, Lexis and case filing systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct paralegal support to AUSAs in criminal cases.
• Gather information from sources to aid investigations, litigation, and trials.
• Read, annotate, and summarize transcripts and files.
• Obtain financial, agency, court, and public records for cases.
• Analyze documents and draft precise memoranda.
• Organize large volumes of records and discovery materials.
• Prepare exhibits, charts, and visual materials for trials.
• Support discovery responses and trial preparations with software tools.
