Job summary

KMRG, LLC is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to support the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Western District of Virginia. You will provide a wide range of paralegal services to Assistant United States Attorneys within the Criminal Division and help organize and analyze discovery and financial documents.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in a professional office environment (legal setting preferred).
• Paralegal certificate preferred; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Strong knowledge of legal research tools and procedures.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and office technology.

Responsibilities

• Provide paralegal support to AUSAs and assist with investigations.
• Gather information from sources to aid investigations, litigation and trials.
• Prepare exhibits, summaries, and memoranda for court proceedings.
• Organize and process large volumes of records and discovery documents.
• Review case files and analyze health care records and financial data.
• Assist with discovery responses and trial preparation.
• Support fraud-related trial preparation and courtroom presentations.
