Job summary

Mullen & Filippi, LLP in California is seeking a full-time Legal Secretary to support our established firm with 15 offices across the state. You will format and proofread transcripts, draft routine correspondence, and assist attorneys with trial preparation and exhibits.

We seek a personable, tech-savvy candidate with 1-3 years of workers' compensation defense experience, proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Word, and the ability to learn case management software.

Qualifications

Opening for a full-time Legal Secretary. We are an established and reputable law firm with 15 offices throughout the state.

PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Format and proofread transcription that has been digitally transcribed and edit legal documents for correct grammar and punctuation.
• Act as a liaison between client and attorney by furnishing and requesting information as needed to assist in completion of administrative reports as required by client or assigned by office management.
• Draft routine correspondence.
• Assist attorney with trial preparation, including preparation of trial exhibits.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of legal secretary workers' compensation defense experience and EAMS filing preferred
• Have a personable and friendly character
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Word. Merus case experience a plus.
• Tech savvy with the ability to learn and become proficient in using case management software.
• Able to identify urgency and prioritize tasks accordingly

Position requires sitting for up to 6 hours per day while keyboarding and physical activity including, but not limited to, bending, stooping, walking, kneeling, crouching, reaching, repetitive motions and lifting of up to 25 pounds.

Salary Range: $24 to $27 per hour. Actual compensation will depend on experience and skills.

Salary Description

$24 - $27 per hour
