Job description

Job Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement pricing strategies that align with the firm’s financial goals and client service objectives.
  • Analyze complex financial data, create pricing models, and provide actionable insights to support strategic decision‑making.
  • Collaborate with partners, practice group leaders, and internal stakeholders on legal services pricing, profitability analysis, and market trends.
  • Interpret data and present findings to partners, senior management, and clients to facilitate effective decision‑making.
  • Create and manage databases summarizing Alternative Fee Agreements (AFAs), ensuring data accuracy.
  • Prepare cost estimates for legal services across all practice areas, including litigation, regulatory, and transactional work.
  • Design and implement analytical models to evaluate pricing scenarios and recommend optimal fee structures.
  • Lead efforts to respond to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) by coordinating input from multiple departments.
  • Design and implement reporting methodologies to monitor engagement performance against budgets, identify improvement areas, and forecast outcomes.
  • Review investment and realization reports, communicate key metrics on matters and portfolios, and evaluate engagement success under AFAs.
  • Monitor market trends and competitors’ pricing strategies to maintain awareness of industry standards and recommend adjustments.
  • Analyze historical matter data regarding utilization, realization, and profitability to inform pricing strategies and identify trends.
  • Draft fee proposals and advise partners on strategic considerations, assisting in presentation to clients.
  • Engage attorneys in dialogue about pricing, demonstrating deep understanding of practice areas and strategic objectives.
  • Serve as a resource on analytical methodologies, accounting processes, and AFA implementation in compliance with client billing agreements.
  • Lead complex analytical projects and collaborate with management and partners to achieve business objectives.
  • Educate others on pricing and client accounting processes to increase organization-wide understanding.
  • Communicate effectively in written and verbal form to facilitate work relationships.
  • Manage firm resources responsibly and comply with firm policies and procedures.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and relational databases; ability to learn new software and operating systems.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and planning skills for synthesizing quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Solutions‑oriented critical thinker who leverages historical data, market trends, and precedent to support effective decision‑making.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills for collaboration and presentation.

Education & Experience

Salary

Competitive salary range: $125,000 – $140,000, plus potential year‑end discretionary bonus.
