Responsibilities

  • Document preparation and proofreading
  • Manage office filings and client/files organization
  • Prepare and submit new client/matter forms
  • Coordinate travel arrangements
  • Process expense reports and check requests
  • Collaborate with Billing to resolve billing issues and final statements
  • Support client communications via phone and email
  • Assist other practice areas as needed
  • Demonstrate strong document processing and project management skills

Job Description

Cozen O’Connor’s Seattle office is seeking an experienced full‑time Litigation Legal Practice Assistant who has experience with WA and Federal Courts (e‑filing). The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic self‑starter, able to multi‑task under time constraints with exceptional attention to detail, take initiative, think strategically and independently, and interact with all levels of the firm. The position requires excellent communication, organizational and computer skills for assisting senior attorneys.

We currently offer a hybrid work schedule, three days in the office and two days working from home, and the opportunity to work with one of the top 100 law firms in the country.

Responsibilities
  • Preparation of documents
  • Efficient workflow including duplication, printing, mailing, and merging of documents
  • Proofreading of all work for content and context
  • Preparing and maintaining client and office files in both electronic and paper filing systems
  • Preparation and submission of new client and/or new matter forms
  • Planning and making travel arrangements, including transportation, automobile rentals, and hotel reservations
  • Preparing and submitting expense reports and check requests
  • Working with the Billing department to resolve billing problems and efficiently process final billing statements
  • Working with clients’ electronic billing systems and monitoring billing processes
  • Communicating with clients on a daily basis via phone or email, and scheduling and coordinating meetings and conferences
  • Strong document processing skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Willingness and ability to support other practice areas within the firm
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years recent litigation experience
  • State and Federal e‑filing experience
  • Experience with litigation procedures and processes
  • Calendaring and docketing experience
  • Experience with a document management system (preferred)
  • Redlining experience (preferred)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications, advanced level in Word and Outlook
  • Outstanding written and verbal communications; ability to professionally interact with clients, attorneys, and staff is required
  • Ability to work overtime is required
  • High school diploma or its equivalent required

The salary range for this role is $75,000 – $95,000 and represents the Firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications and location.
