Job summary

S&P Global is seeking a detail‑oriented Legal Operations professional to manage e-billing, matter management, and spend governance across the Legal, Government Affairs, Risk & Compliance organization. You’ll coordinate onboarding, invoicing, reporting, and process improvements with Finance, Procurement, and technology partners.

The role emphasizes cross‑functional collaboration, data‑driven decision making, and ensuring governance and audit readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of experience in legal operations, e-billing administration, legal support, finance operations, procurement operations, or a related field.
• Experience with e-billing, matter management, finance, procurement, or other enterprise systems.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, with ability to prepare clear reports and exec-ready materials.
• Experience supporting projects and driving workstreams from planning through execution.
• Experience using AI-enabled productivity tools to improve efficiency.
• Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills working with legal professionals, law firms, and vendors.
• Analytical mindset to identify root causes and drive process improvements.
• Ability to handle confidential information with sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary administrator for the e-billing and matter management platform.
• Process, review, and monitor legal invoices for timely approvals and compliance.
• Coordinate matter setup, vendor onboarding, and system administration.
• Monitor invoice exceptions and billing rule violations; resolve issues promptly.
• Support outside counsel engagement processes and budget tracking.
• Generate routine and ad hoc reporting on legal spend and activity.
• Partner with Finance, Procurement, and technology teams on spend management.
• Maintain e-billing documentation, process guides, and controls.
• Assist with implementation, testing, and rollout of legal tech enhancements.
• Coordinate special projects with status updates, dashboards, and stakeholder follow-up.
• Conduct process analysis to identify improvements and optimize user experience.
• Develop training materials and SOPs to ensure consistent adoption.
