Job summary

S&P Global is seeking a Legal Operations professional in New York, NY to lead e-billing and matter management. You will coordinate onboarding, maintain systems, and ensure billing compliance while partnering with Finance, Procurement, and technology teams.

The role emphasizes data-driven reporting, governance, and ongoing process improvements, with a focus on AI-enabled tools and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of experience in legal operations, e-billing administration, legal support, finance operations, procurement operations, project coordination, or related field.
• Experience working with e-billing, matter management, finance, procurement, or other enterprise systems.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint; ability to prepare clear reports and executive-ready materials.
• Experience supporting projects, tracking milestones, and driving workstreams end-to-end.
• Experience using AI-enabled productivity tools to improve efficiency and workflows.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary administrator for e-billing and matter management platform.
• Process, review, and monitor legal invoices for timely approvals and compliance.
• Coordinate matter setup, law firm onboarding, vendor maintenance, and system administration.
• Monitor invoice exceptions and workflow issues; resolve with stakeholders and law firms.
• Support outside counsel engagement processes, accrual tracking, and budget support.
• Generate routine and ad hoc reporting on legal spend, accruals, and metrics.
• Partner with Finance, Procurement, legal, and tech teams on invoice payment processes and improvements.
• Maintain e-billing docs, guides, and controls for governance and audit readiness.
• Assist with implementation, testing, training, and rollout of legal tech enhancements.
• Coordinate special projects with status updates, dashboards, and stakeholder follow-up.
• Conduct process analysis to identify improvements and better user experience.
