Modal is seeking a Legal Operations Lead to be the first dedicated legal operations hire. You will own the systems, records, and workflows that let a small legal team keep pace with a high-growth tech company—and you’ll build most of them from scratch.

You’ll report to our General Counsel and collaborate closely with the Finance, BizOps, GTM, and People teams, building scalable processes, templates, and tooling to improve efficiency, reduce risk, and support rapid decision-making.

Competenze

• 5+ years in legal operations, contract operations, or a corporate paralegal role at a high-growth tech company.
• Demonstrated ability to build and document processes from the ground up.
• Experience configuring workflows and templates within Ironclad or a similar CLM.
• Experience with AI tools and prudent risk management in deployment.

Mansioni

• Build and maintain contract operations, including contract lifecycle management workflows and approval logic; iterate and improve processes.
• Design legal intake processes to support and route internal requests.
• Make the legal function faster with AI and build/configure tooling to increase efficiency.
• Manage corporate administration and record-keeping, including Board and stockholder matters, signature coordination, and knowledge management systems.
• Be the point person for corporate compliance, including entity management, foreign and domestic filings, and coordinating with registered agents.
• Support stock administration and cap table hygiene.
• Manage outside counsel and legal spend.
