Job summary

Firecrawl in San Francisco is seeking a Legal Engineer to bridge law and code. You’ll build contract review agents, policy checks, and playbooks the sales team can use without lawyers, turning legal guidance into production systems.

You are an engineer first with a real legal background (JD or in-house/firm experience). You’ll work with our General Counsel and engineers daily to prove our systems align with terms and commitments.

Qualifications

• You write production code today and have a real legal background: a JD, or years inside a law firm or an in-house legal team.
• Bar admission is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build the legal team’s tools: contract intake, redline and review agents, a clause library, and tracking for what we’ve promised each customer.
• Turn our lawyers’ advice into code and deploy it in product pipelines.
• Tackle hard web data questions with counsel: terms of service, robots.txt, copyright and privacy.
• Own the technical side of our legal commitments and prove compliance in customer security reviews.
• Create tools that let sales and ops handle routine paper without waiting on legal.
• Find legal risk in the product before it ships and fix it with engineering.
