Job summary

Theron Solutions in San Francisco is seeking a Legal Engineer with 3+ years of experience to bridge clients' legal teams, customers, and product. You'll own end-to-end platform quality, translating complex legal needs into polished, automated workflows while onboarding every client for success.

You will collaborate with product and engineering, QA AI-flagged issues, and continuously improve prompts and workflows.

Qualifications

• Legal background (JD or practicing attorney) and ability to spot issues in contracts and legal workflows.
• Strong product sense; understand end-to-end user flows and identify gaps.
• Scrappy, fast-moving; comfortable owning problems in an early-stage startup.
• Experience in legal tech, law firm innovation, or in-house legal function at a startup is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own client onboarding workflows and translate commercial needs into custom legal workflows on the platform.
• QA and validate AI-flagged legal issues across client documents and filings.
• Translate customer feedback and lawyer needs into clear product requirements for the engineering team.
• Continuously improve prompts, modules, and automated workflows to enhance platform reliability.
• Work hands-on with platform tools to build and refine legal workflows without being a hardcore engineer.

Job description

We are looking for a Legal Engineer with 3+ years of experience to serve as the critical bridge between clients' legal teams, customers, and product - someone with a legal background who's obsessed with optimising workflows and leveraging AI to make startup legal run seamlessly. You'll own the end-to-end quality of the platform experience, translating complex legal needs into polished, automated workflows while ensuring every client gets onboarded and set up for success.

What will you be doing?

• Own client onboarding workflows - mapping each customer's commercial needs into custom legal workflows on the platform
• QA and validate AI-flagged legal issues, ensuring accuracy and completeness across all client documents and filings
• Translate customer feedback and lawyer needs into clear product requirements for the engineering team
• Continuously improve prompts, modules, and automated workflows to make the platform smarter and more reliable
• Work hands‑on with the platform's tools (CLI, Claude Code, MCP server) to build and refine legal workflows without needing to be a hardcore engineer

Key Requirements

• Legal background - JD, former practising attorney, or meaningful experience working in legal tech (must be able to spot issues, understand contracts, and sanity‑check legal workflows)
• Strong product sense - ability to think through end‑to‑end user flows, identify gaps, and drive product improvements
• Scrappy and fast‑moving - comfortable in an early‑stage startup environment where you own problems end to end
• Experience in legal tech, law firm innovation, or an in‑house legal function at a startup is a strong plus
