Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and analyse employment-related agreements, including recruitment agreements, offer letters, and separation agreements.
• Draft and revise employment policies, procedures, and process guides.
• Provide support on leaves and accommodations, compensation, payroll, benefits, employee classification, and broader HR compliance.
• Assist with developing and coordinating training sessions and legal updates as required.
• Provide administrative support in the management of external counsel on litigation and other employment-related matters.
• Monitor developments in employment laws and regulations and assist with implementing appropriate compliance measures.

Our client, a leading alternatives investment manager headquartered in New York, is looking for an ambitious mid level employment counsel to join the team as it experiences sustained growth, driven by performance and fundraising.

The role would suit an ambitious junior-to-mid-level employment lawyer (3-6 PQE) looking to make a move into a fast paced trading environment, or who has already experienced a broader financial services business, and is looking to transition into the investment management space.

This role sits in the firm's New York offices, and has a global remit.

The client operates a flexible working policy.

Role:

Support the senior legal team on a variety of employment law matters, including but not limited to:

• Assist with drafting, reviewing, and analysing employment-related agreements, including recruitment agreements, offer letters, and separation agreements.
• Help draft and revise employment policies, procedures, and process guides.
• Provide support on matters relating to leaves and accommodations, compensation, payroll, benefits, employee classification, and broader HR compliance.
• Assist with developing and coordinating training sessions and legal updates as required.
• Provide administrative support in the management of external counsel on litigation and other employment-related matters.
• Monitor developments in employment laws and regulations and assist with implementing appropriate compliance measures.

Experience and qualifications:

• Approximately 3–6 years of relevant employment law experience gained within a tier 1 financial services organisation and/or a leading law firm.
• Must have a JD/equivalent and be admitted to the NY Bar.
