Job summary

Mindlance is seeking a Sourcing Manager to drive category management and strategic sourcing for vendor engagements within Bank Vendor Management. You will lead cross-functional teams, conduct RFx events, and negotiate favorable terms with senior stakeholders across business units.

Responsibilities include economic analysis, risk assessment for fintech and crypto vendors, and close collaboration with Legal, Risk, Compliance, and Information Security.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; supply chain, technology, fintech, digital assets or financial services is a plus.
• 5+ years in category management, strategic sourcing, or vendor management.
• Experience sourcing digital assets, crypto, blockchain infrastructure or fintech platforms.

Job Description:

• The Sourcing Manager, will play an essential role within Bank Vendor Management (BVM) by providing business partners with category management leadership, planning and expertise.
• This position will be responsible for fostering strong relationships with senior CLIENT stakeholders in several core business units; developing, maintaining and executing; leading all aspects of the strategic sourcing lifecycle; as well as collaborating with Risk groups and Corporate Legal Services, as required, on vendor engagements.
• The Sourcing Manager will lead competitive sourcing events to identify competitive vendors or alternative solutions that will generate leverage and drive favorable pricing.
• The Sourcing Manager will lead the review, analysis, and negotiation of strategic projects, identify competitive vendors or other alternatives to generate advantages and drive favorable pricing and terms and conditions. Gather business and technical requirements and produce necessary documentation in support of RFx events. Develop internal presentations and business cases to support management approvals of multi-year vendor agreements. Additionally develop, review, and handle any ad hoc documents requiring special risk and legal reviews.
• Provide economic analysis of vendor proposals and various internal management inquiries for existing or potential vendor expenditures. Identify and document both internal and external risks associated with financial services, market data, digital assets, crypto infrastructure, custody, blockchain technology, and related fintech transactions.
• Support sourcing and procurement activities for digital asset and cryptocurrency-related vendor engagements, including custodians, sub-custodians, transfer capabilities, blockchain infrastructure providers, wallet technology vendors, trading platforms, compliance tools, data providers, and other crypto ecosystem service providers.
• Partner with Legal, Risk, Compliance, Information Security, Finance, and business stakeholders to evaluate digital asset and crypto vendor risk considerations, including regulatory requirements, data security, operational resiliency, audit rights, KYC/AML obligations, confidential supervisory information, indemnity, limitation of liability, and bankruptcy remoteness considerations.
• Work with Finance, Legal, Risk and other subject matter experts within CLIENT to ensure that that policies and procedures and followed and met.
• The Sourcing Manager will also ensure that industry-leading procurement services and tools are utilized to support growth and evolution of relationships for our suppliers and business partners.

Required Skills:

• 5+ years of experience in category management expertise, strategic sourcing, consulting, vendor management, risk management and/or procurement (required)
• Experience sourcing, procuring, negotiating, or supporting vendor engagements involving digital assets, cryptocurrency, blockchain infrastructure, crypto custody, fintech platforms, or related technology services
• The ability to lead cross-functional teams and to build and manage category management plans that maximize value and mitigate risks while ensuring internal stakeholders’ requirements are met
• Consistent and proven track record of building effective working relationships with senior level business partners and internal stakeholders as well as supplier counterparts
• Self-starter, able to manage multiple projects and succeed in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with minimal direction
• Strong negotiation skills and understanding of contract law and risk requirements
• Expertise in sourcing policy, procedures and processes
• Flexible and adaptable in handling/implementing change and understands how change will impact the team, internal Business Partners and vendors
• Ability to lead all aspects of multiple projects and work in a fast-paced environment with tight target dates
• Ability to apply organizational change management and consulting skills / knowledge and expertise
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong research and analytical skills
• Strong interpersonal, problem solving, conflict resolution, facilitation, and negotiation skills
• Required proficiency in Word, PowerPoint and Excel; Experience with Ariba and Tableau is a plus

Nice to Have Skills:

• Familiarity with digital asset market structure, crypto custody models, blockchain analytics, wallet infrastructure, stablecoins, tokenized assets, and evolving regulatory expectations applicable to financial institutions

Education/ Experience Required:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; Supply chain management, technology, fintech, digital assets, or related financial services experience is a plus
