  • Oversee and execute the firm's collections strategy, monitoring portfolio performance and addressing at‑risk accounts.
  • Review and refine policies and procedures to maximize collections, drive standardization, and ensure compliance.
  • Manage formal escalation frameworks for high‑risk and severely delinquent matters.
  • Analytics, Reporting & Compliance
  • Lead the development of collections reporting and metrics; prepare analyses as needed.
  • Monitor account activity trends to flag at‑risk clients early and oversee cleanup of unapplied cash and invoice discrepancies.
  • Co‑lead firmwide collections pushes grounded in ICs analyses.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
  • Meet regularly with billing attorneys to review outstanding WIP and AR and ensure timely billing and collections.
  • Partner with section chairs, department administrative partners, and the Billing and Collections Committee to resolve delinquent AR issues.
  • Serve as a resource on collections policies and best practices across multiple offices.
  • Supervise AR coordinators, set performance goals, coach the team, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Provide consistent AR training to coordinators and train new attorneys and staff on collections processes.
  • Support cleanup of unapplied receipts, trust transactions, short‑paid and overpaid invoices, and chargebacks.
Qualifications

  • Advanced Excel and strong financial/billing systems knowledge, including report generation.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence firm leadership and attorneys.
  • Close attention to detail and accuracy; strong analytical and problem‑solving ability.
  • Bachelor's degree in business or equivalent experience.
