Job summary

O'Hagan Meyer is seeking a detailed-oriented Billing Specialist to join our Chicago office. The role focuses on accurate time entry, prebills, invoices, and eBilling across multiple platforms.

The candidate will liaise with attorneys, clients, and departments to ensure smooth, compliant billing operations. The position is on-site for the first sixty days with a transition to a hybrid model, three days in-office thereafter, and a strong emphasis on accuracy, analysis, and professional

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Prior billing experience in a law firm highly preferred
• Familiarity with legal billing software such as Juris, Aderant or BillBlast
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word)
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Complete complex billing cycles and provide analysis on client accounts and balances
• Distribute and process prebills for assigned attorneys with accurate time entries and matter details
• Prepare, review and finalize invoices and supporting documentation
• Distribute invoices and submit through eBilling platforms
• Monitor invoice submissions and ensure billing is delivered to all parties
• Maintain records for assigned billing attorneys including deductibles and SIRs
• Communicate professionally to resolve billing discrepancies
• Respond promptly to attorneys, clients, insureds, claim handlers and support departments
