Job summary

Troutman Pepper Locke LLP is seeking a Billing Specialist in a hybrid Detroit-area role. The position handles client invoicing, prebills, and final bills, with responsibility for data entry, accuracy, and timely communication with attorneys and clients.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of law-firm billing experience and strong Excel/Word skills. Aderant/CMS experience is highly preferred, and the role requires excellent organizational and deadline-driven performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three (3) years of law firm billing experience.
• Aderant/CMS experience strongly preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Edit prebills to adjust time, transfers, and disbursements.
• Print, sort, and distribute prebills; forward drafts for edits.
• Maintain accurate client billing addresses and exemptions.
• Enter alternate rates and manage billing approvals.
• Provide billing statistics using Excel as needed.
• Communicate with attorneys to meet billing deadlines.
• Submit, process, and track invoices; resolve billing issues.
• Report on WIP and timekeeper status in meetings.
