Job summary

Gottlieb & Greenspan is seeking a detail-oriented Legal Billing Specialist to manage the firm’s receivables, review and post client award payments, and generate invoices for timely submission.

You will work with attorneys, medical professionals, and clients to resolve billing questions and ensure accurate billing, with a focus on regulatory compliance and best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred or an associate degree with relevant experience.
• Experience as Medical Billing Specialist or similar role.
• Ability to interpret medical EOBs accurately.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good time management and prioritization for billing cycles.
• Familiarity with Salesforce and billing platforms is a plus.

We're looking for a detail-oriented Legal Billing Specialist to play a key role in managing the firm's receivables — from ensuring accurate, timely billing to coordinating with healthcare providers and payers. In this role, you'll review and post client award payments and generate client invoices for timely submission, helping keep our billing operations running smoothly and accurately.

What You'll Do

• Prepare, review, and process legal bills and invoices in accordance with firm policies and client guidelines.
• Analyze and interpret medical EOBs to ensure accurate billing and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain thorough, well-organized records and reports on billing activity.
• Partner with attorneys, medical professionals, and clients to resolve billing questions or discrepancies.
• Interface with clients and external billing contacts, addressing billing inquiries.
• Stay current on legal billing best practices and industry standards.

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree preferred; associate's degree with relevant experience in medical billing or coding also considered.
• Proven experience as a Medical Billing Specialist or in a similar role.
• Proficiency interpreting medical EOBs.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Well-developed time management skills with a proven ability to prioritize critical billing cycles.
• Proficiency in MS Excel.
• Familiarity with case management platforms (e.g., Salesforce) and billing systems are a plus.
• Knowledge of legal and medical terminology a plus.

Hiring Range:$60,000-$65,000 / year, commensurate with experience
