Cassiday Schade LLP, a mid-sized litigation defense law firm headquartered in the Chicago Loop, is seeking a motivated Legal Billing Specialist to join their team. The firm offers an excellent working environment and benefits.

This role involves editing and processing client invoices according to attorney instructions and client guidelines. Effective communication and keen attention to detail are essential to manage the workload efficiently. The ideal candidate is organized, service-oriented, and experienced with automated time and billing systems. This position involves high-volume work where prioritization skills are crucial.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Communicate professionally and courteously with partners, attorneys, staff, clients, and vendors, maintaining confidentiality.
• Monitor client guidelines to ensure billing compliance and timely, accurate invoice submission.
• Produce proformas and finalize attorney edits.
• Maintain file information, including attorney rates, payor contacts, and billing methods.
• Upload electronic bills and manage firm information on third-party billing websites.
• Submit appeals promptly and effectively.
• Handle balances for write-offs when appeals are rejected.
• Follow up with Billing Attorneys and others to resolve billing issues to ensure invoice approval.
• Research with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable to resolve outstanding issues.
• Perform miscellaneous projects as assigned by management.

Job Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong organization and attention to detail.
• Ability to identify and reconcile discrepancies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
• Associates degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience with Elite Enterprise or Aderant is preferred.
• Law firm background is desirable.
