Job summary

Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP is seeking a Legal Billing Intake Engagement Specialist to support our Accounting group, with 5+ years of billing and intake experience. The role involves coordinating client/matter intake, validating data in InTapp Open, and ensuring compliance with outside counsel guidelines, billing rules, and client requirements.

You will work in a hybrid environment, collaborating with the E-Billing Coordinator and other stakeholders to improve processes and training.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of legal billing experience, including electronic billing and client intake processes.
• College coursework in accounting preferred.
• Experience with ebilling vendor sites and billing guidelines.
• Experience with InTapp and CounselGuide is highly desirable.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate new client/matter intake and engagement setup per billing requirements.
• Review and validate data in InTapp Open before matter activation.
• Maintain client billing guidelines and compliance data to support accurate billing.
• Maintain client and matter records in the accounting system and ensure data accuracy.
• Partner with E-Billing Coordinator on e-billed matters and client-specific guidelines.
• Suggest process improvements for intake, billing, and compliance procedures.
• Assist with training staff on engagement intake and billing processes.
• Maintain confidentiality of firm and client information.
• Engage in ongoing training to strengthen billing and compliance expertise.
