Job summary

RLI Corp. in Peoria, IL, seeks a Legal Expense Analyst I to support the legal invoice review and expense management for the Claims Department.

You will audit invoices for accuracy, assess time entries, and ensure compliance with Billing Guidelines while collaborating with in-house examiners and outside counsel. Ideal candidates have a paralegal credential and at least 0+ years in legal billing; prior law firm or corporate legal department experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Paralegal degree or certificate, or equivalent legal education/experience.
• 0+ years in legal billing, claims, insurance, or legal industry.
• Experience with legal billing, attorney time entries, or law firm billing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and audit legal invoices for accuracy and compliance.
• Analyze attorney and staff time entries for guideline violations.
• Prepare Bill Analysis Reports and document findings in claim files.
• Communicate with law firms on billing questions and guidelines.
• Collaborate with claim examiners to address billing issues.
