Job summary

RLI Corp. is seeking a Legal Expense Analyst I to support the legal invoice review and expense management within the Claims Department. You will work with claim examiners and outside counsel to ensure invoices are accurate, compliant, and reasonably billed.

The role requires a paralegal degree or certificate and experience in legal billing or a related field. Prior law firm or corporate legal experience is preferred, and MS Office proficiency is essential.

Responsibilities

• Review and audit legal invoices for accuracy and guideline compliance.

• Prepare Bill Analysis Reports and document findings in claim files.
• Evaluate payment recommendations and discuss with claim examiners.
• Communicate with law firms on routine invoice questions.
• Collaborate with claim examiners to resolve billing issues and escalate when needed.
• Track legal spend and identify billing trends or recurring issues.
