Job summary

Planet Depos, LLC in Chicago, IL is seeking a Deposition Officer to set up audio/video equipment and record deposition proceedings. You will ensure clean audio, proper lighting, and accurate speaker identification.

You will also take concise notes, monitor equipment in varying environments, and assist clients with AV and tech issues. A 2- or 4-year degree is preferred, and a professional demeanor is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience or knowledge of the legal industry preferred.
• Comfort with A/V technologies and digital recording systems.
• Professional appearance and client-facing demeanor.
• Ability to adapt to changing schedules and after-hours work.

Responsibilities

• Set up audio/video equipment in new environments and ensure tidy setup.
• Position and monitor microphone placement for optimal audio capture.
• Mix multiple audio tracks and monitor for interference.
• Set white balance and exposure for varied environments.
• Establish video framing per videography norms and log events.
• Assist clients with AV/tech issues in-person and remotely.
• Log key events, spellings, exhibits, and objections during proceedings.
• Swear in deponents and record testimony under oath.
