Zinda Law Group is seeking a Settlement & Subrogation Clerk in Austin, TX to manage the final stage of cases, turning settlements into accurate, compliant payouts. This role requires meticulous attention to detail and ownership of the disbursement process.

You will prepare settlement statements, handle medical liens and subrogation, coordinate client disbursements, and work with accounting to ensure timely payments. A fast-paced, high-volume environment rewards precision and clear communication.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years in a personal injury law setting handling settlements, disbursements, or lien resolution.
  • Experience preparing settlement statements and handling medical liens/subrogation is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage high-volume workloads and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and finalize settlement statements including fees, costs, liens, and client net recovery.
  • Request, track, and resolve medical liens and subrogation claims.
  • Communicate payoff amounts with providers, insurers, and lienholders.
  • Coordinate client disbursements and ensure proper fund allocation.
  • Confirm funds are received and cleared prior to payment.
  • Collaborate with accounting and trust teams to process payments.
  • Explain settlement breakdowns clearly to clients.
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation for each file.
  • Close cases once payments and documentation are finalized.

We're looking for a Settlement & Subrogation Clerk - someone who thrives on accuracy, moves quickly, and takes full ownership of the disbursement process. This is a high-impact role responsible for turning settlements into fast, clean, and compliant payouts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and finalize settlement statements, including attorney fees, costs, liens, and client net recovery.
  • Request, track, and resolve medical liens and subrogation claims.
  • Communicate with medical providers, insurers, and lienholders to obtain accurate payoff amounts.
  • Coordinate and execute client disbursements, ensuring all funds are properly allocated.
  • Confirm settlement funds are received and cleared prior to payment.
  • Partner with accounting/trust teams to process payments to clients and third parties.
  • Clearly explain settlement breakdowns to clients in a professional and understandable manner.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and audit-ready documentation for every file.
  • Close out cases once all payments and documentation are finalized.

Qualifications

2+ years of experience in one of the following:

  • Personal injury law firm (settlements, case management, or disbursements)
  • Lien resolution / subrogation
  • Insurance claims (bodily injury or similar)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial information.
  • Proven ability to manage high-volume workloads and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience preparing settlement statements.
  • Familiarity with medical liens and subrogation processes.
  • Experience working with trust accounting or legal financial workflows.
  • Background in a high-volume personal injury firm.

Compensation & Work Environment
  • Competitive base salary ($65,000 - $85,000, depending on experience)
