Job summary

William Mattar, P.C. is seeking a Legal Assistant/Paralegal to support Attorneys handling client cases from the initial meeting through resolution.

You will prepare notices of claims, draft pleadings and motions using firm templates, assemble exhibits and enclosures, and coordinate filings with courts. Ideal candidates have a college degree or equivalent education/experience, and at least one year of experience in a law firm or office setting.

Qualifications

• College degree or equivalent combination of education and office experience.
• At least one year of experience in a law firm or one year experience in office work or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare notice of claims and draft pleadings, demands, responses and motions using firm templates.
• Assemble exhibits and enclosures and coordinate filing of documents with various Courts.
• Request, receive and summarize police accident reports, private investigation reports, medical records/chronologies and other case materials.
• Communicate with insurance representatives, attorneys and Courts; assist with trial preparation.
• Aid attorneys with lien resolution upon settlement and coordinate pre-settlement funding.
