LHH is partnering with a law firm client in its search for a Legal Assistant to provide support across litigation and family law practice. The Legal Assistant will work closely with shareholders and paralegals in Civil Litigation, Family Law, and General Law practice areas on the full spectrum of clients. Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to attorneys and paralegals, including receiving, processing, and distributing incoming correspondence.
- Transcribe dictated communications for select attorneys, including client correspondence and engagement materials.
- Prepare and reconcile expense reports and corporate credit card statements; handle scanning, printing, and document management.
- Organize and maintain electronic and physical client files in accordance with internal procedures.
- Manage attorney calendars by scheduling appointments, coordinating meetings, monitoring deadlines, and assisting with filings.
- Handle incoming calls and communicate professionally with courts and other external offices.
- Enter and maintain attorney time records in the billing system.
- Support the broader administrative team by providing coverage for reception and other support functions as needed.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in an administrative, legal support, or closely related role.
- Experience working with court records, case information, and document retrieval systems.
- Familiarity with state‑level filings and navigating public records or court‑related websites.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Solid writing and editing abilities, with attention to clarity, tone, and accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and similar tools.
- Self‑motivated with a proactive and service‑oriented approach to supporting professionals.
- Commitment to professionalism, collaboration, and teamwork.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with document or records management systems.
- Prior experience with electronic document filing processes.
- Exposure to federal or multi‑jurisdictional filing systems.
- Paralegal certificate or related formal training.
- Active Notary license.
Anticipated salary range: $57K to $60K
