Innovative Driven is currently seeking a Legal Assistant to assist the in-house team at one of our most well-respected corporate clients! We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Legal Assistant to support the legal team by managing document collection, record organization, and case preparation activities.
This is a fully onsite, temporary role expected to last 6 to 12 weeks. The expected hours are normal business hours, with some flexibility on the exact shift.
Key Responsibilities
Document Collection & Management
- Request, collect, and track records, documents, and information from clients, medical providers, government agencies, employers, insurance carriers, and other relevant parties.
- Monitor outstanding document requests and follow up on pending records to ensure timely receipt.
- Review incoming documents for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with attorney requirements.
- Organize, index, scan, upload, and maintain electronic and physical case files.
- Manage document databases and case management systems.
- Prepare document summaries, chronologies, and file inventories as requested.
Administrative Support
- Assist attorneys and legal staff with case preparation and file management.
- Draft correspondence, record requests, authorizations, and routine legal documents.
- Maintain calendars, deadlines, and document collection schedules.
- Communicate with clients and external parties regarding document requests and status updates.
- Prepare files for attorney review and legal proceedings.
Compliance & Confidentiality
- Handle sensitive and confidential information in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
- Ensure documents are stored and maintained according to firm policies and applicable regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of all document requests, receipts, and communications.
Qualifications Required
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree or Paralegal Certificate preferred.
- 1+ years of administrative, legal assistant, records management, or document collection experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
Preferred
- Experience working in a law firm, legal department, insurance, healthcare, or records management environment.
- Familiarity with case management software and electronic document management systems.
- Knowledge of legal terminology and document retention practices.
