A prominent and well-respected law firm with a strong national presence is seeking an experienced Legal Practice Assistant to join its Raleigh, North Carolina office in a full-time, in-office capacity. This is a confidential search on behalf of a firm recognized for its sophisticated transactional and advisory practices, collaborative team environment, and commitment to professional excellence. The successful candidate will provide high-level administrative and legal support to attorneys across restructuring, corporate, and tax practice groups. Core responsibilities include managing complex attorney calendars and scheduling, docketing and monitoring critical deadlines, maintaining organized physical and digital case files and transactional binders, processing conflict checks and expense reports, performing preliminary document reviews, drafting and proofreading correspondence and basic legal documents, and e-filing and serving pleadings through PACER and CM/ECF. Communication with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel will be an ongoing and important component of this role.
The ideal candidate brings a minimum of five years of legal secretarial or legal administrative experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, solid professional references, and a self-starter mentality with a genuine commitment to quality and confidentiality. Proficiency in Microsoft Office — including Excel — and Adobe is required, with familiarity with iManage, Westlaw, and AI-assisted legal tools such as Harvey considered a meaningful advantage.
