Job summary

BuzzClan is seeking a legal support specialist to provide office-wide support to the Legal Department in Indianapolis. The role includes assisting in preparing responses to foreclosure and bankruptcy actions, tracking case statuses, drafting contracts, lien releases, and internal reports, and handling mail distribution.

The candidate should have a paralegal degree or certificate and at least 2 years of experience in a legal setting, with strong Word and Excel skills, excellent written and verbal

Qualifications

• Paralegal degree or certificate required or equivalent.
• 2+ years in a law firm or government/legal department setting.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to handle sensitive documents and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing responses to foreclosure and bankruptcy actions and other legal responses.
• Track status of foreclosure cases and Sheriff’s sales involving IHCDA.
• Prepare contracts, mortgage releases, reports, budgets, and internal communications.
• Sort, analyze, and distribute mail within the legal department.
• Support Legal Counsel with document filing and transmittal services.
• Transmit legal correspondence to clients, outside counsel, and court officials by various methods.
• Manage special projects, coordinate meetings, and maintain case files.
• Update SharePoint contracts database with data entry and revisions.
• Conduct records and legal research; prepare drafts of contracts and amendments.
• Perform other tasks as needed.
