Job summary

Thomson Reuters is seeking a Legal AI Engineer to help law firm customers transform how legal work gets done with Thomson Reuters Legal AI. You will identify high-value legal workflows, design and test AI-enabled solutions, and collaborate with Practice Innovation Advisors, Forward Deployed Engineers, and other cross-functional partners to address complex customer needs and explore solutions.

Qualifications

J.D. from an accredited US law school required.
Prior experience practicing law required in a law firm, in-house legal department, government, clerkship, or comparable setting.
Proven experience in customer- or client-facing roles with enterprise or complex accounts.
Familiarity with legal workflows such as due diligence, eDiscovery, or large document review.
Demonstrable experience with generative AI applications.
Experience with a variety of online legal research and practice tools (Westlaw, Practical Law, HighQ, Relativity, Everlaw).
Ability to learn and work hands-on with AI tools, workflow technologies, and technically complex solutions.
Experience with workflow automation, APIs, integrations, and technical prototyping; data analysis and Python preferred.
Experience collaborating with software engineers, solution engineers, implementation teams, or other technical specialists.

Responsibilities

Lead discovery sessions, solution demonstrations, and workshops with law firm customers.
Scope Legal AI use cases, advise on workflow and design, and demonstrate capabilities.
Develop and execute Legal AI strategies for signature clients.
Translate complex workflows into solution designs, prototypes, or integrations.
Design, test, and refine advanced Legal AI workflows using multiple Thomson Reuters products and customer systems.
Document solution patterns, requirements, and implementation considerations for reuse.
Communicate customer needs to cross-functional teams and highlight improvement opportunities.
Share expertise with customers and the market through events and content.
Advocate for Thomson Reuters products and explain applications across levels of detail.
Travel regularly (about 25-30%) to customer and firm sites for engagements.
