Legacy Aerospace Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift

Grand Prairie, TX

Are you a Production Supervisor or Lead who is ready to help your career soar to the next level? If so, join our Aerospace team today!

As the Aerospace Transparencies Production Supervisor with PPG’s Aerospace business, you will have direct supervisory responsibility for within a designated production area as part of our growing team. You will play a key role in ensuring safety and meeting our production schedules. Working with other supervisors and your production team you will produce essential components for cutting edge applications in the aerospace industry.

This is a second shift role which will typically work Monday – Friday from 2:00 pm – 10:30 pm.

This is an onsite position at our Grand Prairie, TX facility. You will report directly to the Production Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Leads and supports an assigned Production Area including safety, team focus on risk reduction, and improvements.
• Planning daily work and assigning resources and monitoring results.
• Hires, mentors, counsels, and coach employees related to performance and company policies and procedures.
• Prioritizes and maintains production progress including workflow by observing: steps in process; constraints in flow and equipment, monitoring staffing and resources, studying methods; implementing cost reductions; facilitating corrections and recovery efforts of flow.
• Compiles reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
• Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs, evaluating new equipment and techniques.
• Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data, answering questions, and responding to requests.

Qualifications:

• 1 or more years’ experience in a supervisory role in the manufacturing industry required.
• High school Diploma or equivalent education degree required.
• Bachelor's degree in a relative field preferred.
• Skilled in employee leadership or supervision, coaching, employee engagement, and mentorship required.
• Ability to manage processes and process change, resource planning, and production planning required.
• Previous experience with Lean Methodology, process improvement, and 5S preferred.
• Must be U.S. Citizen
