The UCCS Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Social Work areaccredited by the Council on Social Work Education's Commission on Accreditaton. Accreditation of a baccalaureate or master's socialwork program by the Council on Social Work Education's Commissionon Accreditation indicates that it meets or exceeds criteria for assessing program quality evaluated through a peer review process.An accredited program has sufficient resources to meet its missionand goals. The Commission on Accreditation has verified that it complies with all sections of the Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards. Accreditation applies to all program sitesand program delivery methods of an accredited program. Accreditation provides reasonable assurance about the quality ofthe program and the competence of students graduating from theprogram. This is a part-time lecturer position, and appointments are made ona semester-by-semester basis. The person in this position willprimarily teach undergraduate-level courses in Social Work, withthe possibility of occasional course assignments at the graduatelevel as needed. The successful candidate will be prepared to teachrequired courses within the Social Work major including but notlimited to: Introduction to Social Work; Social Work Research;Human Behavior and the Social Environment; Contemporary Issues inSocial and Public Policy; Social Work Practice with Individuals,Families, and Groups; and/or Social Work Practice withOrganizations and Communities. Course offerings include day andevening classes as well as the ability to teach in a variety offormats (e.g., face-to-face, hybrid, and online).
Duties include preparing syllabi, conceptualizing development,teaching tasks in accordance with Council on Social Work Education(CSWE) accreditation, and management of student course grades inteh learning management system.

This is an evergreen Lecturer Pool for the Social Work Departmentin the College of Public Service at UCCS. Applications will be reviewed on a semester-by-semester basis as business needsarise.
Because this appointment is temporary in nature, you will not beeligible to receive all of the benefits normally provided tofaculty under the standard University ofColorado benefits programs. You are not eligible to receivepaid vacation leave, medical, or retirement benefits. However, youare eligible to accrue sick leave at 0.034 hours of sick leave perhour worked.
