About the Position

The College of PublicService at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs(UCCS) will establish and maintain a pool of Lecturers in Public Administration from which future appointments to temporary, non-tenure track positions will be made. Appointmentsare part-time (less than 50% time) and will be madesemester-by-semester.

This position will prepare and teach courses in Public Administration (PADM 3950 &3951 are undergraduate-level nonprofit management courses; PADMcourses numbered 5000 and above are graduate-level courses).Classes may be on-campus, online, or hybrid.

Duties include class preparation, delivery of course materials,creation of assessments (examinations, papers, learning activities)and grading, and maintaining availability for student consultationsduring the semester. The position includes regular communicationwith the program director and staff throughout the semester.

What We Offer

Salary Range: $1,300 / credit hour. This position is Exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) overtime provisions.

Work Location: Determined by course modality (i.e., oncampus if teaching an in-person course; remote if teaching anonline course; or a combination of the two if teaching a hybridcourse).

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • A doctorate degree in a related field from an accreditedinstitution.
  • Substitution:
    • A master's degree in public administration or arelated field from an accredited institution AND at least 5 yearsof relevant work experience at a leadership or specialized expertlevel.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous teaching experience, which may include teaching atpost-secondary levels and/or leading professional training ispreferred.
  • Ability to each in multiple formats (in-person, onlineasynchronous, hybrid) is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience at a leadership orspecialized expert level is preferred.
