Job summary

The Bedford College Group is seeking a Trainee Lecturer in Games Design to join our Performing Arts department at Bedford College Group. You will plan and deliver Digital, Media, Games, and Computing courses across levels 2–5, adapting to learners’ needs and ensuring high-quality teaching.

You will assess learners, use data to monitor progress, and contribute to curriculum development and industry-relevant practice.

Qualifications

• Degree in a relevant subject (or strong industry experience), GCSE English and Maths, DBS clearance, and a teaching qualification (or willingness to achieve).
• Experience teaching at Level 2/3, with knowledge of FE quality assurance systems and use of data and IT to monitor and improve performance.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence, support students, and maintain a professional and welcoming environment.
• Strong ability to meet deadlines, manage workloads, maintain accuracy, handle sensitive data, and deliver consistently high performance under pressure.
• Commitment to safeguarding, equality and diversity, and health & safety, with flexibility to travel, adapt working hours, and uphold professional standards and boundaries.

• Student Experience & Engagement - Promote positive behaviour, provide inclusive learning environments, support employability opportunities, and actively contribute to marketing and student recruitment activities.
• Quality, Compliance & Collaboration - Maintain accurate records, meet administrative and quality requirements, work with colleagues and awarding bodies, and uphold safeguarding, EDI, and health & safety standards.
