Cal Poly Pomona department of architecture is highly collegial andcollaborative with extremely focused and motivated students. Thedepartment offers a Bachelor of Architecture, a Master ofArchitecture, and a Master of Interior Architecture.
The Master of Interior Architecture is an online professionaldegree (M. INT. ARCH.) accredited by the Council for InteriorDesign Accreditation (CIDA). The primary goal for the Master ofInterior Architecture program is to provide an opportunity forindividuals, with a minimum of a bachelor's degree, to pursue arigorous program of full-time or part-time study that prepares themto enter the field of interior design, incorporating the higheststandards of professional practice. The knowledge and skill setsimparted to students will enable them to stand out in the workplaceand to take on leadership roles in an increasingly competitiveindustry.
The temporary faculty pool is continuously open, and positions arefilled as needed, based on student enrollment and funding. Candidates may need to be available to begin teaching on shortnotice. The Fall term begins in late August and ends inmid-December; the Spring term begins mid-January and ends inmid-May. Opportunities for teaching during the Summer Sessions mayalso be available. We welcome applications from individuals who areexperienced and student-centered to teach in the following subjectareas:
Teach assigned division courses in the department's curriculum andserve weekly office hours based on assigned teaching unit load.Assignments may include day, evening, and/or weekend courses.
Compensation will be based on the applicable CSUSalary Schedule for CFA Unit 3, Classification 2322, and will becommensurate with the assigned workload and enrollment.
Positions hired exclusively to teach in the self-support MIAprogram are not eligible for benefits
Pursuantto Education Code 89521 applicants will be required todisclose whether they have received a final administrative decisionor final judicial decision determining that they have committedsexual harassment within the last 7 years only after adetermination is made that they meet the minimum qualifications forthe position, and before an offer of employment is extended. A background check (including a criminal records check) must besatisfactorily completed. Failure to satisfactorilycomplete the background check may affect the continued employmentof a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered theposition.
In accordance with the California State University (CSU)Out-of-State Employment Policy, the CSU is a state entity whosebusiness operations reside within the State of California andprohibits hiring employees to perform CSU related work outside ofCalifornia. It is also expected that faculty establish an on-campuspresence to fulfill their responsibilities.
The person holding this position is considered a "mandatedreporter" under the California Child Abuse and Neglect ReportingAct and is required to comply with the requirements set forth inCSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.
