Job summary

Beacon City School District seeks a Leave Replacement AIS Reading Teacher for JV Forrestal Elementary from November 15, 2026 through February 5, 2027. This position requires NYS Certification in Elementary General Education (Grades 1-6) and strong instructional planning aligned with MTSS.

The candidate will use data-informed instructional practices, collaborate with teams, and engage families while delivering standards-based literacy instruction in a student-centered environment.

Qualifications

AIS Reading Teacher Leave Replacement from 11/15/26 through 2/5/27 (anticipated)

Requirements:

• NYS Certification in Elementary General Education required, Grades 1-6;
• Demonstrated and/or experience in the following are required:
  • NYS Learning Standards and curriculum design, delivery, and assessment;
  • Developmental Stages of Early Education;
  • Effective, student centered classroom management strategies;
  • Culturally responsive instructional practices for elementary classrooms;
  • Integration of technology to plan, deliver, and assess student learning;
  • Use of summative and formative student data to inform instructional decisions and student progress;
  • Effective strategies for student and family engagement;
• Strong written and verbal communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills required.
• Familiarity with MTSS, AIS Reading/Literacy is preferred.
